The Amazing Adventures of Captain Farr Novarider and the Wild Horses - Episode 07 - the Revenge of Galabrax

In which our heroes must face the return of an old enemy.  Novarider is denied some of his most valued crew members... and Reagan.

I think I'm done with the Christ on a Cracker joke as of writing this post.  It'll show up a couple more times, but it's definitely not going to be a running gag.  I think the intention was to turn it into a returning joke, but I had so many other better ones, now it's just a bit of product placement more than anything.

I knew that Galabrax was going to have to return when I first created the character.  He was fun to write and fun to act (although he's killer on the throat).  He's almost a character who writes himself, which is convenient for me.  I'm just sad that he's not in this season all that much - although he has a much bigger presence in the second season (coming soon).

In listening to this episode again, one of the problems that I'm shaking my head at (other than the otherwise visual humor), is that Captain Jake sounds too similar to Galabrax over the hailing frequency.  I suppose that's just a problem that I have to deal with since I'm certainly no professional voice actor, and I don't have the money to pay one.

In non-the Amazing Adventures of Captain Farr Novarider and the Wild Horses news, not to long ago, I finished fleshing out a new side series idea.  I still have to put in a little bit more thought on presentation as well as finalizing the scripting, but it could prove to be an interesting diversion to work on The Amazing Adventures.  I don't think that it will turn into a main stay for the blog, so much as just be something that I try to put out once a month to keep things from being kind of stale.

I do have plans for a different type of series for "the off-season" of the Amazing Adventures, but right now I still have a lot of work to do on the second season.  I'm probably going to sit down a flesh out a concept as well as (hopefully) a rough of the first episode.  I have some vacation time coming soon, so that might be the time that I put some work into it.
